PubMatic、Programmatic Direct Teamを新設

2014.6.11

PubMatic, the programmatic advertising platform company for leading publishers, announced today that Evan Simeone has joined in the newly created position of Vice President of Programmatic Direct, Engineering. Simeone will lead PubMatic’s move into automated guaranteed and programmatic direct, a complement to the company’s ongoing focus on the automation of advertising transactions via real-time bidding (RTB).

The hire is a clear response to growing market demand. As digital advertising dollars continue to flow to programmatic solutions, with direct sales over RTB growing annually by an average 176% to $6.3 billion globally between 2012 and 2017[1] according to the IDC, PubMatic sees ever greater opportunity to innovate ways to maximize returns for publishers, value for advertisers, and relevance for consumers. Programmatic direct presents significant opportunities for innovation and additional revenue. Simeone’s new role represents what may be the first executive level position dedicated specifically to programmatic direct innovation in the ad tech industry.

“Evan brings just the kind of expertise and engineering talent to PubMatic that we need to extend our industry leading offerings into the programmatic direct arena,” said Kirk McDonald, President at PubMatic. “As the adoption of programmatic tools continues to accelerate, we know that our customers are increasingly seeking intuitive, well designed, programmatic solutions for their direct inventory, and Evan is just the person to help us deliver them to market.”

Before joining PubMatic, Simeone served as Chief Product Officer for Organic Motion, a computer vision and markerless motion capture company, where he led the automation of the company’s online advertising workflow and technical integration with third party systems. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Product Officer at Solbright and the Vice President of Engineering at Operative, both industry leaders in workflow and sales execution for leading publishers, as well as with other companies dedicated to offering publishers effective monetization options. Simeone, who brings more than a decade’s worth of experience in enterprise software engineering to PubMatic, began his career as a Java and mobile developer for companies that include Rational Software and Palm.

“This is a tremendously exciting opportunity for me,” said Evan Simeone. “I’ve spent the better part of my career focused on automating workflows for leading publishers, and understand the value of bringing the efficiency of automated execution to high-value premium inventory. I’m excited to be able to bring my skill set and experience to a place that understands programmatic solutions and publisher needs as well as PubMatic does. I can’t imagine a better match.”

Simeone will be based in New York City, reporting to Mukul Kumar, PubMatic’s co-founder and Senior Vice President of Engineering.
