2015.10.29

VivaKi, Publicis Groupe’s centre of excellence for paid media and ad tech, has appointed Andrew Carter as head of trading, Asia Pacific for VivaKi Exchange.

In his new role, effective 1 January 2016, Carter (pictured) will be responsible for driving long-term business engagement and growth in the region and leading key negotiations with major clients. He will develop and manage VivaKi’s trading approach –creating and implementing disciplines and systems required as a network to develop and monitor the strongest, most compelling trading propositions for marketers in Asia Pacific.

Carter will lead a regional trading group comprised of local market buying directors and trading directors, and will work in close collaboration with Publicis Groupe agencies to ensure VivaKi’s trading and value proposition is delivered.

Carter holds over twenty years of industry experience across the UK and Asia Pacific regions. Prior to joining VivaKi, he was president of trading at GroupM China where he managed a team of over 200 staff. During his time with GroupM, he contributed to the company’s new business drive and developed trading models which helped deliver sustainable client advantages.

Prior to China, Andrew was a trading director for OMD. Carter will be relocating from Shanghai to Singapore for his new role and will be reporting into Simon Pardon, CEO, VivaKi Exchange.

“Carter has a sterling track record in the trading world. His extensive experience in trading, planning, buying and investment management and deep knowledge of the Asia Pacific market will be vital in growing VivaKi Exchange’s business in a very important geographical region for the company,” said Simon Pardon, CEO, VivaKi Exchange.

“There is great growth opportunity in Asia Pacific for VivaKi. I look forward to working with and building VivaKi Exchange’s team in the region to forge strategic partnerships that can help scale Publicis Groupe’s investment, and expand our footprint,” said Carter.
