The Trade Desk, Inc., a global demand-side platform in real-time bidding, has expanded its Asia footprint with the opening of offices in Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, Korea to support the top six regional trading desks and growing client demand in the area.
Jae Woo Chung, formerly President of Asia for WPP’s 24/7 Media, has been named The Trade Desk’s President of Asia while The Trade Desk’s Tokyo office will be helmed by Tetsuya Shintani.
Chung formerly served as President of Asia for 24/7 Media where he oversaw all of the company’s technology and business lines in the market, as well as leading strategic joint ventures in the region. Chung’s role is dedicated to the elevation and growth of RTB at a critical time in Asia’s business and advertising history.
“There is incredible sophistication among buyers in Asia, and I am pleased to be growing the business on the demand-side at such an important time,” Chung said. “We have a well-respected technology platform with unmatched growth, and we will continue to power, and empower, agencies and media teams as they compete in the global marketplace.”
CEO Jeff Green agrees, saying, “We are honored that we were able to attract two digital marketing leaders to join and help us expand into the region; Jae Woo as our President of Asia and Tetsuya Shintani as our Country Manager in Japan.” Green continues, “We are proud to power buyers at the top six trading desks in Asia, and look forward to growth in the market under Jae Woo’s leadership.”
In his role as Country Manager, Shintani brings years of experience in marketing and advertising technology, including programmatic, attribution modeling, and analytical business model development. Before joining The Trade Desk, he worked for Dentsu following more than 15 years in agency and third-party ad serving technology companies.
