AppNexus, the world’s leading independent ad tech company, today announced the appointment of longtime Google executive Doina Harris as Vice President of the Advertiser Technology Group (ATG) in EMEA and SAP veteran Michele Weber as Vice President and head of ATG global marketing. Harris and Weber will report directly to Casey Birtwell, General Manager of ATG and a member of the company’s Operating Committee. The appointments of Harris and Weber fill out the leadership ranks of ATG, the AppNexus business unit dedicated to producing market-leading technology for advertisers, agencies, and ad tech companies that serve buy-side market participants. Today’s announcement also comes on the heels of an important milestone, as the company’s global workforce surpassed 1000 employees across 23 offices and five continents.

Under the company’s internal organization, ATG is tasked with building out a full-stack offering for advertisers while the Publisher Technology Group (PTG) is tasked with completing AppNexus’ full-stack solution for content producers.

Harris has held senior-level roles at Google since 2007, including Director of Sales Operations and Strategy for Southern and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. Weber was previously VP, Growth Marketing & Communications at SAP; she brings a wealth of experience in enterprise technology marketing.
This summer, the Advertiser Technology Group unveiled two major products – AppNexus Programmable Bidder, an innovative technology that enables advertisers and agencies to upload their proprietary algorithms directly to the AppNexus open platform and test and refine algorithmic strategies to optimize campaign outcomes; and a video buying product that aims to provide programmatic video buying at a fraction of the prevailing market rate, in a way that preserves and improves yield for sellers of video inventory.
“Expect to hear much more this fall about both of these products,” continued Birtwell.
